Member Registration System, General Description
On October 17, 2006, we launched our PDL Member Registration System. As you know, there are a number of services, many free, that the PDL offers to every teacher in your school. But reporting the names and e-mail addresses of staff personnel to the PDL for services in the past has been time consuming. Our Member Registration System changes that.
There are three main features of our new member registration system.
(1) All PDL member schools should automatically receive a PDL e-mail which assigned a temporary user name and pass word specific for PDL Key Contacts to access and manage this system. The PDL Staff Registration System allows you to provide the e-mail addresses for all staff for PDL services. You control what e-mail addresses we receive, but an easy way is to upload your total school e-mail address files into our system. But, you can send the addresses for individual teachers, or sub-groups of teachers. You decide what e-mail addresses goes into our system. Anytime during the school year you can use this system to add or delete staff.
(2) When we receive this data, we generate an automatic e-mail response to every e-mail address provided. In that response we list our PDL services, showing what are free or additional-cost services. (We do tell teachers to check with administrators before signing into an additional-cost program such as Wolves of Yellowstone). Only if a person responds, indicating the services they want, do they become part of our communication network. Each teacher will have a type of check-off Program Selection Menu to select the services they want. PDL Staff Registration System allows teachers to generate their personal user name and pass words. In addition to signing teachers into specific PDL services, this system also allows an easy, efficient way for the PDL to share future services and teaching opportunities to your staff.
(3) The PDL Staff Registration System is more than a fast and efficient way to enroll staff and assign pass words. Every time (PDL Key Contact) you enter the PDL Staff Registration System, you will see a master listing of all teachers in your district that enrolled in a PDL service. You are also notified and asked to approve any teacher signing up for a paid PDL service. Further, you will see the last date and time when a teacher accessed a specific service. So, if a teacher enrolled in the Wolves of Yellowstone, you would know by frequently checking the PDL Staff Registration System how often that service is being used over a school year. This will help you know if a service has value for your teachers.
